Restoration of Postal Service in Kosovo – Stamps of Kosovo 2000.
The erstwhile Socialist Federal Republic consisted of eight Federated entities – Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia and two autonomous provinces under Serbia – Kosovo & Vojvodina. After the break of Yugoslavia and subsequent ethnic violence in the region and especially in Kosovo from 1991 to 1998 a UN resolution was passed and United Nations Interim Administration in Kosovo(UNMIK) was established on 10 Jun 1999.
Kosovo issued a set of Five stamps on Theme Peace and UNMIK on 15 Mar 2000. A First Day Cover featuring the restoration of postal service in the territory of Kosovo and cancelled by U.nited Nations Interim Administration in Kosovo(UNMIK) is listed.
