100th Anniversary of Scouting in Bangladesh – Stamps of Bangladesh 2016

Bangladesh issued two stamps to commemorate 100th Anniversary of Scouting in Bangladesh on 21 Jan 2016. It was formed in 1914 in East Bengal as part of British India Scouts Association and then continued as part of Pakistan Boy Scouts Association till 1971. Bangladesh became an Independent member of World Organisation of Scout Movement in 1974 and changed its name to Bangladesh Scouts in 1978.

Dubai issued a set of Four stamps on the 13th World Scout Jamboree which was held at Asagiri heights on the western side of Mount Fuji in Fujinomiya Japan from 2-10 Aug 1971. A total of 23,758 scouts attended.

The stamps were issued on 30 Aug 1971 and feature

Boys Scouts movement started in 1907 after Baden Powell experimental scouting camp in Brownsea Island. Scout troops were active in Cape,Transvaal & Natal. From 1909 t0 1922 scouting in South Africa developed on provincial basis- Four Parallel scout Association were created -For Whites in 1908,Blacks in 1919, Indians 1931 and Coloureds in 1934. In 1977 all four associations combined to form Boy Scouts Of South Africa
