They Brought Freedom – T-34/76.2 Tanks – Stamps of the Czech Republic.

The Czech Republic issued a stamp on a T-34/&6.2 Tank on 20 Jan 2015. It marked 70 years of T-34 Tank (1945-2015). The stamp was issued as a No Value Indicator stamp (A on stamp) and initial face value was 13 Czech Koruna. This tank was a Soviet-built 1940 model tank with a 76.2 (3 in) gun. It could pierce the early 1941 German Panzer III & IV tanks with APCR shells. The T-34/76.2 tank could penetrate 92mm of armour at 500m whereas German tanks had only 50or 60 mm of flat front armour.

A Beautiful FDC with stamp and cancellation of a tank wheel at Ostrava is listed. These stamps were issued under theme “They brought Freedom”
