First Day Cover -Pilgrimage Sites in Bhutan – Stamps of Bhutan 2017
Bhutan is known as the last bastion of Vajrayana Buddhism.Buddhism has been the predominant spiritual practice in the country since the eighth centurywhen it was promoted in the country by Guru Padmasambhava. Buddhism is the foundation of the spiritual and cultural values and identity of Bhutanese society.
A First day Cover with miniature sheet was issued by Bhutan Post on 19 Jun 2017 on the theme the Pilgrimage sites in Bhutan . Nine stamps on Nine Pilgrimage sites were issued. The sites are Kyichu Lhakhang, Jampa Lhakhang , Kurjey Lhakhang, Aja Nye, MebarTsho, Singye Dzong,Tachog Lhakhang, Chhorten Kora, Dungtse Lhakhang.
