Bhutan issued a set of nine stamps on Mask Dance of the Judgement of Death on 27 Apr 1985. These stamps were overprinted with “Asia-Pacific Exposition Fukuoka 89” and issued on 17 Mar 1989. The Overprints were in two languages Japanese and English.

Bhutan issued a set of  12 stamps on 02 Jun 1969 on History of Steel Making. Eight stamps were Surface mail postage Steel Foil stamps and Four stamps were Airmail Postage stamps. All stamps were Imperf.

In 2006 EUROPA celebrated its 50th Anniversary. Several Countries outside EUROPA also issued stamps to mark this event. Bhutan issued a set of two stamps and a Miniature sheet in 2006 to mark 50th Anniversary of EUROPA Stamps.

150 Nu – Jakar Dzong – The current Dzong was built in 1667 overlooking the Chokhor Valley. Its official name is Yuelay Namgyal Dzong in honour of Victory over the troops of Tibetan ruler Phuntso Namgyal.

250 Nu – Archery- National Sports of Bhutan.

The Four Mythical Animals – Stamps of Bhutan 2016.

Deeply rooted in Bhutanese believe the four mythical animals are Tak (Tiger), Seng (Snow Leopard), Chung (Garuda) and Druk (Dragon).

Tak -Tiger – It stands for Confidence, Dignity, Discipline and Modesty. Guru Rinpoche came riding on a flying tigress.

Seng –  Snow Leopard – It stands for Vitality, Dignity and Purity.

Chung – Garuda – It stands for fearlessness and Power.

Druk -Dragon – It stands for elegance, generosity, Calmness and Achievements.
