Australia State Floral Emblems and Philately – Victoria – Pre Stamped Envelopes Australia 1982

Australia Post issued a set of seven Pre stamped envelopes on the Australian States’ floral emblems on 19 May 1982.

Pink (common) Heath (Eparcris impressa) – It was proclaimed as state floral emblem of Victoria in 1958 .

This slender shrub grows to about one metre high and its bell like flowers which bloom in winter and spring vary in colors from white through Pink to red. The indentations at the base of each flower -tube are a characteristic of this species.

This sturdy plant is found mainly in the southern regions of the State and also in parts of New South Wales ,South Australia and Tasmania
