14 April -Festivals with Many Names

On 13th and 14th April many festivals are celebrated in different parts of India.

Baisakhi ( North India/Punjab) – Harvest Day ,New Year ,Founding of Sikhism

Poyla Baishakh ( West Bengal)- Bengali New Year. Also celebrated in Tripura.

Bikhoti Festival (Uttarkhand) –  People take  a dip in holy rivers.

Bohag Bihu (Assam) – Assamese New Year . also known as Rongali Bihu.

Vishu (Kerala).

Maha Vishuva Sankranti (Odisha)

Puthandu (Tamil Nadu) – Tamil New Year

Jurshitali ( Bihar & Nepal) – Mithila regions celebrate this festival.
