Stamp on Estonian Bible Translation- 1997.
In 1633 a Swedish Bookbinder Christoph Reusner founded Estonia’s first Printing house Reusner (CR) and had the privilege of being Tallinn’s official Printer. Reusner printing house is credited with printing of several works which were of great importance in development of Estonian language and Estonian cultural history.In 1637 the first book in Estonian language was printed here. Thereafter the first Estonian Grammar Textbook and then in 1686 the first translations of New Testament and Bible into Estonian were printed.
On 14 Oct 1997 Estonia issued a stamp on Estonian Bible Translation.
