75 Years of Boy Scouts in Bophuthatswana -1982
In 1899 during the Anglo -Boer war Baden Powell was the Commanding officer of British Forces in Mafeking and the Mafeking Cadet Corps was organised .They were deployed on message carrying duties – one stamp shows a cadet on Bicycle . The Boys Scouts became active after the experimental camp at Brownsea Island in 1907.
On 27 Apr 1994 Bophuthatswana was reintegrated with South Africa.
A FDC with four stamps issued on 29 Jan 1982 to mark 75 Years of Boy Scouts in Bophuthatswana.
