A Special Cover on 50th Anniversary of First Sub Post office on Herm Island – Guernsey Channel Islands -1925 -1975. The First Sub Post Office at Herm Island was established on on 01 May 1825. The office functioned till November 1938. After WW II a private local post commenced operations and local carriage service continued operations till 30 Sep 1969. On 01 Oct 1969 a sub Post office of Guernsey Post office opened.
The number of mail handled between 1925 to 1938 is not known and only a handful of handstamp postmarks exist which make them rare Channel Islands postmarks.
