In 1819 British /Indian residency was established in Nepal.International mail was sent from residency where as internal mail ,mostly documents were sent by messengers. Stamps of India were used in Nepal from 1854. Hand stamped postmarks with number 137 indicated that these Indian stamps were sent from Nepal.
