Australia Painting Series – Charles Condor – A Holiday in Mentone -1984

Charles Edward Condor (24 Oct 1868 -9 Feb 1909) was an English-born Painter,Lithographer and designer. He emigrated to Australia and was key figure in Heidelberg School (art movement in Australia). He was born in Tottenham ,Middlesex and spent several  years in India as a young child.

Australia issued a $5 stamp on 04 Apr 1984 featuring his famous Painting “A Holiday in Mentone 1888”. It is now held in Art Gallery of South Australia collection .This year 2018 will be his 150th Birth Anniversary.
