Long Billed Vulture (Gyps indicus) is the smallest of the Vultures which is critically endangered since 1990s.This species is now locally extinct in several regions. The in-situ conservation measures for this species are being taken up in Bejjur of Kagaznagar Forest Division of Telangana State Forest Department.

A Special cover on Long Billed Vulture was issued at Hyderabad during the 63rd Wildlife Week (2-8 Oct 2017). The Cover with a cancellation on Vulture was released on 06 Oct 2017.  Cover no TS/08/2017
