Great Britain issued a set of Five stamps on 250th Anniversary of Honorable Company of Edinburgh Golfers.In 1744 a committee of the Gentleman Golfers of Edinburgh drafted the first 13 rules of  Golf to compete for a Silver Golf Club, presented by City of Edinburgh, over Leith Links.John Rattray ,a physician and Archer , was the first winner.This was the first known organised golfing competition of any Golf club in the World.

The Scottish Golf Courses featured on the stamps are

19p – Old Course, St Andrews- This is considered to be the oldest Golf course in the World. It si commonly known as “The Cathedral of Golf” and located over common land in St Andrews in Fife Scotland.

25p- 18th Hole, Muirfield- It is a privately owned links which is the home Honorable Company of Edinburgh Golfers.It is located in Gullane ,East Lothian Scotland.it is used in rotation for the Open Championships.The 18th hole is one of the great finishing holes in Golf.

30p- The 15th Hole (Luckyslap) ,Carnoustie. The Carnoustie Golf Links is located  in Carnoustie ,Angus ,Scotland .It was established in 1842. A tough hole is the 15th Hole.This course hosts the Open Championships in rotation.

35p- 8th Hole (The Postage Stamp) Royal Troon. The Royal Troon Golf Club is a links Golf course located in Troon, South Ayrshire,Southwest of Glasgow. It was established in 1878 and has the shortest and longest holes in Open Championships. The 8th hole par-3(Postage Stamp) measures a scant 123 yards (112m) and its diminutive green measures 2635 square feet (245 square meter)

41p- 9th Hole Turnberry and Turnberry Lighthouse 1873. It was established in 1906 and located on the coast of Firth of Clyde in South Ayrshire,Southwestern Scotland. It is owned by Trump organisation. 9th hole is the best 9th hole in Open Championships.
