Stamps on Bobby Jones Golfer – USA 1981
Robert Tyre Jones Jr ( 17 Mar 1902 – 18 Dec 1971) was an Amateur American Golfer who was one of the most influential figures in the history of Golf. He Founded and helped in designing the Augusta Golf Club and Co-Founded the Masters Tournament. He was popularly known as Bobby Jones.
In 1930 he won the ‘Grand Slam” consisting of both Open & Amateur at US & UK Open. The USA issued an 18c stamp in memory of Bobby Jones on 22 Sep 1981.
