USA issued a one dollar stamp on 12 Jan 2015. It brings a contemporary vibe to the traditional red,white and blue.The Patriotic wave stamp features red and blue lines intersecting on a white background in an abstract pattern reminiscent of billowing flags.This unique design lends a patriotic appearance to packages ,envelopes and other mailings.
Designed by Michael Dyer with Antonio Alcala as art director. It was issued in sheets of 10.
Illinois became the 21st State in the Union on 03 Dec 1818 and celebrates 200th Anniversary of statehood in Dec 2018.
The stamp design is a graphic illustration of commemorating Illinois statehood. A series of yellow rays beaming upwards symbolizes rising sun and the new state’s place on American flag as 21st star. The twenty stars ten on each side represent the first 20 states in the Union as also the Centennial flag. The Yellows and blues represent the dawning of new day as the state joins the Union.

USPS issued a 2 cent definitive stamp on Novajo Jewelry on 12 May 2007. This stamp features Lou Nolan’s painted details of a Novajo silver and turquoise necklace with sand cast squash blossoms set with polished blue turquoise nuggets. Nolan based his painting on a photograph by Peter T Furst .The necklace belongs to a private collector and is believed to have been made in 1940’/1950’s. The stamp has also been re-issued in 2011.
Stamps to Fund Breast Cancer Research- USA Stamps of 2014 Breast Cancer Research.
Stamps are sometimes issued to raise funds for some causes,research etc.These are called semi postal stamps also as there is surcharge added to face value/postal value to the stamp .The surcharge goes to funding such causes.
The USA issued a stamp in 1998 on Breast Cancer Research .It was the first semi-postal stamp issued by US Postal Service (USPS).The Breast cancer research stamp has been re -issued in 2014 (49c + 11c). The rate now in 2018 is 65c (50c+15c). The stamps were issued in sheets of 20 stamps.This postage is valid for first class mail ,single piece first ounce rate.
The stamp depicts a woman standing with her right arm raised,reaching behind her head in the position recommended for breast self examination. The drawing of woman’s body is set against a background of pastel colors from yellow to violet. Across the top of stamp are words “Breast Cancer” and encircling the figure’s right breast are phrases “FUND THE FIGHT” & “FIND A CURE”.
The stamp has been designed by Whitney Sherman.The pose reminded her of Greek Goddess of Hunt Artemis (Diana to the Romans) reaching back to pull arrow from the quiver hanging on her shoulder.It signifies strength,courage,survival and hope-all emotions which the stamp designer hoped to capture in stamp art design.
Till date the stamp has raised more than $78 million for breast cancer research.Support this cause as Breast Cancer is second leading cause of cancer death in Women.
Green Succulent – International rate stamp – USA 2017
USPS issued a round shaped stamp on Green Succulent on 28 April 2017. Green succulent is the new Forever international rate stamp. This Global Forever stamp can be used to mail a one ounce letter to any part of the Globe where First Class Mail International service is available.This stamp will have postage value equivalent to the price of single piece First Class Mail international first ounce machineable letter in effect at the time of use.
The stamp features a photograph of echeveria plant which belongs to stonecrop family and is genus to about 140 species native to Americas.
