Ancient Chinese Enamelware on Stamps -Taiwan 1982

Taiwan (ROC) issued a set of stamps on ancient Chinese enamelware on 20 May 1982. Enamelling is said to have been introduced into China from Istanbul by Arabs. The Chinese term for enamelware “Fa lang” is derived from Fo-Lang-chi a medieval name for Istanbul.

NT $2.00 -Champlev enamelware-Plate & Cup – Chien-lung ware (1736-1795).

NT $5.00 – Cloisonne enamelware – Gold-plated Duck – Chien-lung ware (1736-1795)

NT $8.00 -Painted enamelware -Incense burner – Kang -hsi ware (1662-1722 AD)

NT $12.00 -Cloisonne enamelware – Milk-tea pot – Chien-lung ware (1736-1795 AD).The cylindrical piece has three sections . The spout and handle are shaped like a dragon.
