APS Cover Jan 2019 – Platinum Jubilee -First Battalion The Bihar Regiment.
First Battalion The Bihar Regiment was initially raised as a Territorial Army in 1923 and named 11/19 Hyderabad Regiment. In 1939 it was embodied on the outbreak of WW II. The Battalion was rechristened as First Bihar Regiment on 15 Sep 1941.
First Battalion The Bihar Regiment took part in Burma Operations in 1945-46. It was awarded the Battle Honours “HAKA” and “GANGAW” & Theatre Honour “BURMA”. It was also awarded Battle Honour “BATALIK” and Theatre Honour “KARGIL” during Kargil War of 1999.
APS issued a cover on 09 Jan 2019 to mark its Platinum Jubilee of raising.
