Bhutan and University of Texas – Miniature Sheet Bhutan 2014.

The University of Texas El Paso (UTEP)  School of Mines main building was destroyed in a fire in 1914. The Dean at That time Steve Worrell and his wife Kathleen Worrell were instrumental in adopting Bhutanese architecture design for a new building which came up in 1917. Dale Walker a faculty member made first contacts with Bhutan in 1960. After Worrells adopted the Bhutan design this was the first contact almost 50 years later. Jigme Dorji studied engineering at UTEP graduating in 1978 and since then a lot of students from Bhutan have studied here.

Bhutan issued a miniature sheet of Four stamps (all Nu 25 Stamps) to commemorate 100 years of Cultural ties between Bhutan and UTEP. The stamps feature
