The Pacific Games (earlier called South Pacific Games) are held every four years for countries around the South Pacific Ocean. The First Games were held in 1963 and the sixteenth edition will be held in Apia Samoa in July 2019.

The Third South Pacific Games were held in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea from 13-25 Aug 1969. Papua New Guinea issued a set of three stamps to mark the games. The stamps were issued on 13 Aug 1969. The stamp features “Fireball” Class Sailboat.A Souvenir Booklet issued is listed.
