First Stamps on EUROPA -1956

The First EUROPA stamps were issued in 1956.

1956 – The First stamps were issued by Postal Administrations of Six founding members of European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) with a common design -a tower made up of letters of word EUROPA and surrounded by construction scaffolding. The designer was Frenchman Daniel Gonzague. The six countries to issue stamps were Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and Netherlands.
