Hawaii – State Bird – Hawaiian Goose or Nene. It was designated as Official State Bird in 1957. The plumage of male and female nene is identical. This unique bird is endangered.
State Flower- Yellow Hibiscus was adopted as the official state flower in 1988. The yellow hibiscus is also known as Pua aloalo or Ma’o-hau-hele. It is an extremely rare and endangered species.
