Stamps on Federal Republic of  Saarland– Germany – 2007.

Germany has issued stamp on 50th Anniversary of Federal Republic of Saarland on 02 Jan 2007.  Saarland is a forested Southwestern German State bordered by France and Luxembourg. It is named after Saar river and is a part of the Moselle Wine region. Its capital Saarbrucken is known for Saarland Museum and baroque style Ludwig Church. It was formed in 1920 after World War I.It joined the Federal Republic of Germany on 01 Jan 1957 as its state after rejecting the 1955 Saar Statute referendum.It used its own currency Saar Franc and issued postage stamps until 1959.

Two First Day Covers cancelled at Berlin is listed. The stamp features Buildings, rivers, Coat of Arms & Steel Industry.
