The First Winter Olympics were held in Chamonix, France in 1924 in which 16 Nations participated in 6 Sports, 9 Disciplines and 16 events in Men’s and Women’s Category.
The 1994 Winter Olympics or XVII Winter Olympics were held in LILLEHAMMER Norway from 12- 27 Feb 1994. The then King of Norway King Harald V inaugurated the Games. A total of 1737 athletes from 67 Nations participated in 6 Sports, 12 Disciplines and 61 events. Russia topped the medals tally with 11 Gold Medals Norway bagged the most medals overall -26 ( 10 Gold,11 Silver, 5 Bronze)
