The 2008 Summer Olympics or XXIX Olympics were held in Beijing China from 08 to 24 Aug 2008. A total of 10,942 athletes from 204 Nations participated in 28 Sports, 41 Disciplines and 302 events. President Hu Jintao of China inaugurated the Games. China topped the medals tally with 48 Gold Medals.
China issued a stamp on 23 Jun 2006 to promote the Beijing Olympics. A Postally used cover mailed from China to commemorate one year to go for the Olympics.
