South Africa is 2019 Rugby World Cup Champions – Japan 2019
The Rugby World Cup is played every Four Years. The Inaugural World Cup was played in 1987 and was co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia. Eight editions of World Cup have been held till now. The last World Cup was played in England in 2015 and next world Cup which will be Ninth World Cup is scheduled to be held in Japan from 20 September 2019 to 02 November 2019. There will twenty teams participating in 2019 Rugby World Cup. New Zealand is current World Champions and has won the Webb Ellis Trophy thrice, Australia and South Africa have won it twice and England have won it once.
Japan issued a miniature sheet containing ten stamps on 2019 Rugby World Cup on 06 Sep 2019. Each stamp features Flags of participating countries.
Springboks defeated England 32-12 to become the 2019 World Cup Champion and lifted the Webb Ellis Cup for the third time to equal New Zealand’s record. Six penalties by Handre Pollard put them in the driver’s seat, wingers Makazole Mapimpi and Cheslin Kolbe scored first ever tries for SA in a final to seal England loss. A Far more representative South African team saw Siya Kolisi become the first Black South African to lift the Rugby World Cup.
