Galapagos Islands are located in the Pacific ocean and a province of Ecuador. Charles Darwin visited this volcanic archipelago in 1835 and the number of species here inspired his Theory of Evolution.
Great Britain issued a miniature sheet containing four stamps of 81 pence each on 12 Feb 2009 to commemorate 200th Birth Anniversary of Charles Darwin (1809-1882) and features the species found on Galapagos Islands.
