1.66 Euro – Lady Mary Wood 1842 – This steam Powered Passenger and Cargo Liner was built by Thomas Wilson & Company of Liverpool in 1841 and registered in 1842. it was named after wife of Sir Charles Wood ,Viscount of Halifax and later Secretary of State for India 1859-66. In 1845 the Pacific and Oriental Steam Navigation Company established the first regular mail service to Far east conveying mails to China via Ceylon, Singapore Hong Kong. Lady Mary Wood was first steamer dispatched to Far East arriving in Singapore on 04th Aug 1845.
