Europa stamps – Iceland -2015- Old Toys
Iceland issued a set of Two stamps on Europa theme on 10 Sep 2015. The theme was old toys.
50 g Europe or 1.80 Kr –Wooden Duck- The Wooden Duck was first produced from 1931 to 1960 by Akureyri toys and Leifur Toys. Leifur took over production in 1942 and continued till 1960 when imported toys forced it to shut down.
50 gr or 2.40 Kr – Dua Cars . The production of Dua cars started in 1985 when pioneers in Westfjord formed a toy workshop called Aldan whose goal was to produce wooden toys and Dua cars made by this workshop became popular. Red cross was one of their agents and apart of sales proceeds went to red Cross for relief centres for youth children
