Icelandic Contemporary Design VIII  Textile – Iceland 2017-First Day Cover

Iceland issued a set of Four stamps on Textile under the theme Icelandic Contemporary Design VIII on 16 Feb 2017.

B 50 g Gr 180 Kr – Textile design is the theme of the eighth stamp series dedicated to Icelandic contemporary design. Vik Prjónsdóttir designed the scarf “Shielding hand”. The objective is to promote the development of wool products and knitting. The designers are fascinated by nature narratives and behaviour.

50 g 195 Kr- Bryndis Bolladottir designed the work “Eye/Sphere” which is a sound absorber made of wooden felt. She is a graduate of Iceland academy of Arts and has received many International certifications for sound absorbing designs

1000 g  480 Kr – Ragna Frooadottir designed the interior textile “Mountain Range”. She learned clothing and textile designing in Paris & Iceland . She now lives in Iceland and works as head of textile department of School of Visual Arts

1500 g  630 Kr – Anita Herlekar designed the textile “Spring /Summer 2016”. Selected as of the four most outstanding International designers in 2015 in UK
