Romania issued a set of Stamps on Cats on 07 Feb 2020. The Cats Featured are

1.80 Leu – Persian Cat – It is a long haired breed of cat . It was possibly imported into Italy from Persia (now Iran) in 1620 and is also known as “Persian Long Hair” in English spesking nations. With a life span of 10-15 years it has a round face ,short muzzle , quiet and sweet feline.

2.00 Leu – Siamese Cat – It is native breed from Thailand (erstwhile Siam) and an Asian breed that became popular in Europe and North America in 19th Century. Derived from the Wichianmat landrace. It has a life span of 8-15 years. They are born white but temperature changes below 100 deg F it changes color. One of the oldest domesticated breeds.

3.30 Leu- British Shorthair Cat – It is the pedigreed version of British Domestic cat. It has stocky body, dense coat and broad face. The most familiar color variant is “British Blue”.It has a life span of 12-17 years

5.00 Leu – Bengal Cat – Domesticated cat breed created from hybrids of domestic cats specially Egyptian Mau and Asian Leopard Cat. They have a wild appearance and coat shows spots due to leopard cat ancestry. Jean Mill is given the credit for Modern Bengal Breed . She first made the first cross between Asian Leopard Cat and a Black Californian Tom Cat. It was ooficially accepted as a Breed in 1983 by International Cat Association TICA. Life span 6 to 16 Years.
