World Post Day 2020 -Railway , Sea Mail & Travelling Post Office
09 Oct is celebrated as World Post Day. Mail is transported from one place to another by Land, Sea, Railway and Air Services.
Sri Lanka issued a Rupees 15 Stamp featuring arrival of Mail from England at Talaimannar Port and then further being transported through Railway Mail.
While being Transported by Rail the Railway Mail Service used to make arrangements to sort out the mail and make the dispatch bags inside a Railway Coach through Travelling Post Offices. These were attached with various trains.
