Tour de France 2020 – Double Win by Slovenians – Miniature Sheet Slovenia 2020.

The 107th Tour de France, the most popular of three Cycling tours was scheduled to start on 27 Jun 2020 but was postponed to 29 Aug 2020 due to COVID -19 Pandemic. The race started in Nice on 27 Jun 2020 and had a traditional finish at Champs -Elysees in Paris on 20 Sep 2020. A total of 176 riders across 22 teams participated in the 21 Stages race. 146 riders crossed the finish line. It was 2,165 miles long race.

The Overall General Classification was won by a Slovenian for the first time . It was 21 Year old Tadej Pogacar ( UAE Team Emirates) of Slovenia followed by another Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Team Jumbo-Visma) and Australian Ritchie Porte (Team Trek-Segafredo) was placed third.

The Mountains Classification and Young Rider Classification were won by Tadej Pogacar, making him the first rider to win Yellow Jersey(Overall General Classification) , Polka Dot ( Best in Mountain Classification ) and White Jerseys (Best Young Rider) in the same year. Pogacar was the second youngest winner.

Slovenia issued a Miniature Sheet of 2.19 Euro containing one stamp to honour these two riders on 03 Dec 2020.
