Special Cover Ballari Railway Station -India 2020
The Foundation stone for Ballari Junction was laid in 1869. It is one of the Oldest Railway Stations in India. Mahatma Gandhi visited Ballari Station on 01 Oct 1921 and spent some hours here. It was Southern Mahratta Railway on Hubballi – Guntakal Railway line headquatered at Dharwad. This 150 Year old Heritage Station is now part of South Western Railway. The building is a fine example of Romanesque-Italianate Architecture composed of round arches , thick walls and large towers.
The Special Cover was released on the occasion of Inauguration of Railway Heritage Museum at Hubbali. Date of release 21 Jun 2020.
