150 Years of Telegram Service in Montenegro – 2020

The telegram service in Montenegro started operating first between the stations of Cetinje, Rijeka Crnojevića, Orja Luka (near Danilovgrad). The service was regulated by the Telegram Act, which was promulgated in January 1870.Montenegro established the first contact with the rest of the world through Kotor, in March 1870, based on Montenegro’s agreement with Austria-Hungary.Montenegro Post, within the edition 150 years of telegram service in Montenegro, publishes a commemorative stamp and the first day cover. The author of the conceptual design is Adela Zejnilović, a graphic designer from Podgorica.

A 50 Euro cent stamp was issued on 16 Dec 2020.
