2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup -was held in Jordan from 30 Sep to 21 Oct 2016. It was the First Female FIFA tournament held in the region. North Korea Defeated Japan 5-4 on Penalties in the Final held at Amman International Stadium in presence of 12,800 spectators on 21 Oct 2016. Spain beat Venezuela 4-0 to take the Third Place.

Jordan issued a set of Four stamps on 25 Sep 2015 to commemorate the event.
