Neeraj Chopra bestowed PVSM and Padma Shri awards on Republic Day 2022.
Subedar Neeraj Chopra , VSM of 4 Rajputana Rifles ace Olympian and Gold Medallist in Javelin Throw at 2021 Tokyo Olympics with a throw of 87.58 Metres has been awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal in Armed Forces Honours List for Republic Day 2022. He has also been honoured with Padma Shri for his contribution to Sports in the Republic Day 2022 Honours List.
He is the only Indian to win a Track and Field Gold at Olympics. He is Youngest Ever Indian Olympic Gold Medallist in an Individual event and only one to have Gold Medal on his Olympic Debut. He belongs to Khandra Village , Panipat District of Haryana State. As of Aug 2021 he is ranked World No 2 by World Athletics. He is currently Olympic , Asian & Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist.
