Mysuru Betel Leaf – Special Cover -India 2022.
India issued a Special cover on Mysore Betel Leaf on 20th Mar 2022. The Government of India has granted GI Tag no 34 to Mysore Betel Leaf on 30th Jan 2006. The Betel leaf has been cultivated in Mysuru Taluk in villages and Palace Gardens of Maharajas of Mysuru. The leaves have a smooth texture and are heart shaped. The presence of Black clay soil with moderate rainfall and temperature makes Mysore betel leaf unique to this particular area.
