Roger Federer – A Philatelic Journey

On Sept 15 , 2022 Roger Federer announced his retirement . The Rod Laver Cup from 23-25 Sept 2022 will be his last Professional ATP Tournament. Federer was born in Basel , Switzerland on 08 Aug 1981. He won his first Grand Slap title at Wimbledon in 2003 at the age of 21. He has won 20 Grand Slam Singles Titles ( 8 Wimbledon , 6 Australian Open , 5 US Open and 1 French Open). He won the Davis Cup for Switzerland in 2014 and Hopman Cup three times. He also won a Silver in Men’s Singles at 2012 London Olympics and won a Gold in Men’s Doubles at 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

He has been awarded the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship award 13 times and has won the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award a record five times.

Austria – 08 Feb 2010 , 60 euro cent , Print run 300,000

A 20 FRANC Coin was issued by Bern Mint in 2020 on Roger Federer. It was a 20 g Silver coin with a mintage of 1000 coins.
