National Defence Academy (NDA) Khadakwasla Pune – Philatelic Tribute

The Joint Services Wing was commissioned on 01 Jan 1949. The Foundation Stone for The National Defence Academy (NDA) Khadakwasla Pune was laid on 06 Oct 1949. NDA was formally commissioned on 07 Dec 1954 and Inauguration Ceremony was held on 16 Jan 1955. It was the first Tri-Service institution in the World. First batch of Female Cadets inducted for training in 2022.

NDA celebrates 75 Years of Service to Nation in 2024

The National Defence Academy (NDA) Khadakwasla Pune has an Alumni numbering 38,000. NDA alumni have been awarded Three Param Vir Chakra, 12 Ashok Chakra , 32 Maha Vir Chakra , 45 Kirti Chakra, 152 Shaurya Chakra and 163 Vir Chakra for Valour and Gallantry.
A Commemorative Coin of Rs 75 was released on 30th Nov 2023 by India Govt Mint Hyderabad to commemorate 75 Years of NDA (1949-2024). The coin has Sudan Block on one side. The weight of coin is 35 grams and it is made of Silver (.500) Copper (50%, Nickel 5%, Zinc 5%)
