Hildegard Von Bingen- 900th Anniverasry -Postcards of Germany Hildegard von Bingen  (1098-1179) also known as Saint Hildegardand Sibyl of the Rhine was a German Benedictine abbess,writer,composer,philosopher,Christian mystic,visionary and polymath. A stamp and a postcard was issued on 16 April 1998 to mark 900th Birth Anniversary.

Johannes Gutenberg (1400-1468)  was a German blacksmith,goldsmith,printer and publisher who introduced printing to Europe with the Printing Press. The introduction of mechanical movable type printing to Europe started the printing revolution and is regarded as a milestone of the second millennium.
