500 Nu stamp to commemorate 60th Birth Anniversary of Fourth Druk Gyalpo of Bhutan.
The Druk Gyalpo is the Head Of state of Kingdom Of Bhutan. Bhutan is known as Drukyul which translates to “Land of Dragons”. The Kings are known as “Druk Gyalpo” meaning King of Dragons the Bhutanese people call themselves as “Drukpa’ meaning :dragon People”.
Jigme Singye Wangchuk (born 11 Nov 1955) is the former King and Fourth Druk gyalpo of Bhutan whose reign extended from 24 Jul 1972 to 09 Dec 2006 when he abdicated the throne in favour of his son and present Druk Gyalpo Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk.
Bhutan post issued a Nu 500 (rupees 500) denomination stamp and Miniature sheet on 07 Nov 2015 to commemorate the 60th Birth Anniversary of Fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye W.angchuk.
