75 Years of Boys Scouts in South Africa – 1907-1982
Boys Scouts movement started in 1907 after Baden Powell experimental scouting camp in Brownsea Island. Scout troops were active in Cape,Transvaal & Natal. From 1909 t0 1922 scouting in South Africa developed on provincial basis- Four Parallel scout Association were created -For Whites in 1908,Blacks in 1919, Indians 1931 and Coloureds in 1934. In 1977 all four associations combined to form Boy Scouts Of South Africa
