Women’s Traditional Jewellery in the UAE – Stamps of UAE 2006

UAE issued a set of Six stamps on Women’s Traditional Jewellery in the UAE on 31 Dec 2006.

The stamps were issued in six denominations (Dh1, Dh1.50, Dh2, Dh3, Dh3.50 and Dh4), along with limited First Day Covers (Dh16) and a stamp booklet (Dh15).

The jewellery depicted include

Mariya Um Al Nairat (Dh 1)  – A  gold necklace worn by women,

Mortasha (Dh 1.50) – A thick gold necklace with round gold discs hanging from it,

Shaghab Bu Shouk (Dh 2) -Gold earrings characterized by magnificent embellishments

Shahid Ring (Dh3.0) – Ring

Bushuq (Dh 3.50) – A gold bracelet characterised by conical designs and projections,

Tassah(Dh 4 ) – Jewellery worn on the forehead.
