State Flag of Alaska – USA 1976.

The USA issued a set of 50 stamps on State Flags of States of the USA on 23 Feb 1976. We are listing them in Alphabetical order of States name. All stamps are 13 cents denomination. Stamps of 2nd state are listed

Alaska State Flag –  Alaska adopted the State Flag for use in 1959. It consists of eight gold stars and a dark blue field. The blue represents the sky, the sea, the mountain lakes and Alaska’s wildflowers. Seven stars represent the constellation Ursa Major or the Big Dipper which symbolizes Bear, an animal indigenous to Alaska. The eighth star being the North Star and representing the Northernmost State of The USA
