State Bird and Flowers of Missouri – USA 1982.

The USA issued a set of 50 stamps on State Birds and Flowers of States of the USA on 14 Apr 1982. We are listing them in Alphabetical order of States name. All stamps are 20 cents denomination. Stamps on 26th State are listed.

Missouri– State Bird –Eastern Bluebird designated as State Bird in 1927.  These are Medium-sized songbirds (thrush). Black bill, red-orange chest and blue feathers.

State Flower-Red Hawthorne. It was designated as the state flower in 1923. It is woody plant that can reach 20 feet. There are 75 species found in Missouri. Its fruit called pomes is used to make jams.

First Day Cover is listed, it shows Missouri as the Plains States of USA.
