Stamps on 1976 Winter Olympics Innsbruck  – Canada 1976

The First Winter Olympics were held in Chamonix, France in 1924 in which 16 Nations participated in 6 Sports, 9 Disciplines and 16 events in Men’s and Women’s Category.

The 1976 Winter Olympics or XII Winter Olympics were held in Innsbruck Austria from 04- 15 Feb 1976. The then Austrian President Rudolf Kirchschlager inaugurated the Games. A total of 1123 athletes from 37 Nations participated in 6 Sports, 10 Disciplines and 37 events.USSR topped the medals tally with 13 Gold Medals.
