Miniature Sheet on Char Dham Uttarakhand – India 2019.
Char Dham are Four holy sites in Uttarakhand which are revered by Hindus and devotees undertake a holy pilgrimage to these sites.
Yamunotri – On the banks of Yamuna River.a temple built by King of Tehri in 1839 houses the idols of Goddess Yamuna and Goddess Ganga. Hot water spring Surya Kund is also here.
Gangotri Dham – the temple devoted Goddess Ganga stands facing River Bhagirathi which originates from Glacier Gaumukh.
Kedarnath – The Farthest Dham located at 3500m above sea level is situated in Rudraprayag District of Uttarakhand. Shiva temple adorns this Dham.
Badrinath – The Badrinarayan temple in Badrinath devoted to LordVishnu is the most visited temple in India. This Dham is located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand alongside Alakhnanada river.
India Post issued four stamps on 29 Nov 2019 on these Char Dhams in the form of Sheetlets and a mixed sheetlet containing four Se-tenant blocks of Four. Each Sheetlet contains 16 stamps and 25000 sheetlets of each variety have been issued.
