State Bird and Flowers of Nebraska – USA 1982.

Nebraska– State Bird –Western Meadowlark designated as State Bird in 1931.   A Familiar songbird of the open country in western two-thirds of North America. Same family as blackbirds and orioles.

State Flower-Goldenrod. It was designated as the state flower in 1895.
