Indian Roller Bird on Myanmar Stamps – 2019.

Myanmar issued a 100 Kyat stamp on Indian Roller on 12 Dec 2019. Indian Roller is bird from Coraciidae family. It is found in West Asia and Indian Sub continent. It is listed as least concern in IUCN Red list. During mating season the males are seen doing aerobatic displays. Indian rollers have brown breast and sky blue tail with terminal band of Prussian Blue . Three sub species are recognised. Indicus sub species is found in Sri Lanka and India. In India it is also called Neelkanth and associated with Vishnu, Shiva and Hindu Gods.
